We are pleased to launch a computerized system for the Human Resources Committee for Personnel Acceptance, representing a streamlining of committee procedures and another step toward a paperless campus. We are pleased to announce the launch of a new tool, developed in-house, for conference management and registration. This system was developed in conjunction with the Weizmann Conference Unit to aid both the conference coordinators on an administrative level, and the scientific coordinators on the management level.
Weizmann is implementing new and exciting Unified Communication & Collaboration (UCC) capabilities: includes new IP Phones & Soft(ware) Phone, Video & Audio Conferencing, Instant Messaging (Chat), Desktop sharing and Presence Information

ACS – Depositing articles in PubMed Central
ACS has a new policy for depositing articles in PubMed Central.
ACS Articles ar no longer automatically deposited in
PubMed Central after 12 months. Authors now need to
select some form of ACS AuthorChoice (i.e., Open Access) for this to happen.

When you accept the License to publish a journal article, you retain certain rights concerning the deposition of the whole article.
• You may deposit the accepted version of the submitted article in your institutional repository. (embargo of 12 months from the date of acceptance.)
• Make available the PDF of the final published article via the personal website of the author, or via the Intranet of the organization where the author works No embargo period applies.

- RSC Open Access Vouchers
RSC Open Access Vouchers
RSC Gold for Gold voucher codes are available to Weizmann researchers for a third year. These vouchers can be used to publish an article that has been accepted by RSC as Open Access without incurring the standard article fees. According to Weizmann researchers who have benefited from this program, the process is straight forward and the result is that your article is available as open access.

Web of Science doesn't always display correctly in Internet Explorer
Sometimes, Web of Science is not displayed correctly in Internet Explorer. This is because Web of Science is not compatible with Internet Explorer browser mode.
In order to gain the full Web of Science experience, please take the following steps:
1. Click on F12 button on your keyboard
2. Click on “Browser Mode” menu
3. Choose “Internet Explorer 10”
4. The screen is refreshed and you should now gain the full Web of Science experience

Scopus adds Impact per Publication to its portfolio of journal metrics
A new journal metric is now in Scopus: Impact per Publication (IPP). IPP measures the ratio of citations per article published. It provides you with an additional metric for comparing and evaluating journals to help you confidently know where to publish. Access the IPP metric from the "Compare journals" tool and elsewhere in Scopus.

- Physics Faculty library closed for renovations
Physics Faculty library closed for renovations
As of Sunday, November 23rd the Physics Faculty library (located on the second floor of the Benoziyo Physics building) will be closed for renovations.
During the renovations period, planned to last till June 2015, the physics library print books collection and the Science Teaching collection will be housed in the Mathematics library.
During the renovations period, there will be no access to the physics library collection of print journals. However, should an electronic version of a publication not be available, a pdf form of the requested article will be ordered for you through the mathematics library.
The Mathematic library librarian Dr. Yifat Belous will be happy to answer all your questions and assist all the readers at the Mathematics library.
