Nu Plasma3 ICPMS is a double-focusing (Electric and Magnetic sector) mass analyzer allowing high resolution of analysis ~10,000 coupled with multiple collectors for high precision isotopic ratio analyses (3-300amu). Liquid and solid samples can be analyzed via auto-sampler nebulizer and laser ablation. Radiogenic isotope (dating) systems such as Rb/Sr, U/Pb, Sm/Nd; and stable isotopic systems such as Li/B/Fe/Mg/Cu etc. can be measured. Liquid samples in the ppm/ppb range are aided by ion chromatography prior to ICPMS analysis, however the high resolution of the analyzer can be tuned to account for most interferences (during laser ablation of solids for example).
