Policies & Training

General policies

  • No food or beverages are permitted near the spectrometers or workstations.
  • Do not prepare your samples at the EPR lab.
  • Do not leave your EPR samples in the EPR lab.
  • If a sample breaks in the magnet, contact the EPR lab staff immediately so that the resonator can be cleaned. This will minimize damage from corrosive solvents.
  • All users must follow the scheduling restrictions of the EPR lab, and register in advance.
  • Non-standard experiments/ resonator changes must be scheduled with the EPR lab staff in advance.

A guide for new EPR Users

Our EPR spectrometer is normally operated in two ways:

  1.  By trained users - The instrument is accessible to anyone who has been trained in its use by the EPR lab staff, and work is performed for their own research groups.
  2.  As a service - EPR service is provided to WIS staff (Internal EPR Services) as well as for external users (External EPR Services).
